The SPC decided to downgrade today’s severe weather risk which is a good idea given the amount of dry air that continues to work into this system. The area was downgraded to a level 1 from a level 2. Honestly, if it were me, I would take us out of the severe threat altogether and just keep the area in a general thunderstorm threat (lightest green).
This looks like a nothing burger for us. If you have outdoor plans, I would say there’s a 90% chance you get it in without any problems. There could be a brief shower or thunderstorms out there later this afternoon, but it would be very isolated at best.
Otherwise, it’s hot, humid and breezy (downright windy at times).
