The remnants of Arthur will bring pockets of heavy rain and flash flooding to the deep south from Louisianna to South Carolina. FLOOD WATCHES have been issued from southeast Texas to Georgia. A TROPICAL STORM WARNING has been issued for coastal areas from Port Arthur, Texas to the bayous south of Morgan City, Louisianna.
In terms of wind speeds Tropical Storm Arthur didn’t amount to all that much. Honestly, it was kind of questionable naming this storm to begin with. Especially given how much the wind shear has ripped this storm apart. But the rain and surf will create some problems for the folks across the deep south. Rainfall totals will range between 5 and 10 inches from Louisianna to Georgia with more of a bullseye over southern Alabama and the extreme western portions of the Florida panhandle. There could even be isolated heavier amounts for some areas.
