The water will become very dangerous today for all levels of swimmers. It’s a good idea to just stay out for now and that includes surfers. A HIGH RISK of rip currents has been issued from Manasquan to Cape May with a MODERATE RISK issued from just north of Manasquan to Sandy Hook and the Delaware beaches.
A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY has been issued for the oceanfront from noon today until 6am Tuesday. Building seas of 3-6 feet and gusty winds (southerly) 15-25 knots. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating small vessels, should avoid navigating in these conditions.
