Heat Advisory

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a HEAT ADVISORY for Thursday and Friday for the counties shaded in orange below. It includes most of the Philadelphia area. The counties not included in the advisory are Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Kent, Sussex and the Poconos.

We’ve already had a couple of rounds of heat this season, but the first significant round is set to arrive tomorrow as a deep southwesterly push of tropical air comes roaring up the east coast. Temperatures will surge into the mid 90s, and heat indices will easily climb over the century mark making it feel much hotter and very uncomfortable at times.

The images below show the counties under the heat advisory along with Thursday and Friday’s heat index values.
