Humidity creates instability and instability creates thunderstorms! There are other factors involved, but that’s a fun, brief description on how it all works. Well, we’re going to see plenty of humidity by the end of the week. As a result, we’re going to have to deal with some thunderstorms from time to time. Some of these storms could be strong to possibly severe Wednesday and Thursday.
The Storm Prediction Center has now put the Philadelphia area in a level 1 (marginal threat) for both Wednesday and Thursday. Although Thursday appears to be much more active than Wednesday at this point. Strong, gusty (potentially damaging) winds will be the main threat.

The current high-resolution data shows the heaviest weather pushing through on Thursday between 2pm and 8pm from northwest to southeast.
