Weekend Preview – Hot, More Humid

Summerlike heat will be the big weather story across the Philadelphia area this weekend. Saturday looks to be the hotter of the two days with plenty of sunshine, increasing humidity, and afternoon temperatures soaring into the mid 90s! This will likely be the hottest day since May 20th. Residents planning outdoor activities should stay hydrated and take frequent breaks from the sun. While most of the day should remain dry, a late day shower or thunderstorm can’t completely be ruled out across the far western counties.

Changes arrive late Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front approaches the Delaware Valley from the northwest. That front will bring the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially during the first half of the day on Sunday. Although some of the latest computer guidance brings most of this moisture into the area now Saturday night. It remains very warm and humid. Although temperatures should ease back a bit compared to Saturday.

Drier, more comfortable air is expected to arrive early next week, providing a welcome break.
