Weather Summary
The Jersey Shore will be the place to beat the heat over the next couple of days. While inland temperatures soar well into the 90s, the ocean breeze should keep beach communities a little more comfortable. Just remember even though temperatures will be cooler overall, the humidity will still be very high, and the sun will be very intense. Stay hydrated, use sunscreen and always check the rip current forecast before heading into the water.
Temperatures on Thursday and Friday will be highly dependent on wind direction. If a sea breeze develops, beach towns could stay in the upper 80s to right around 90. If the sea breeze is delayed though or fails to develop, temperatures could surge up into the mid to upper 90s! Especially as little as a half mile inland. Heat index numbers over 100 degrees.
The setup later this week favors a very intense heat dome, so I would expect beach weather to be hot.
