Weather Summary
A FLOOD WATCH has been issued for the I-95 corridor from Wilmington, Delaware through southern Connecticut. Downpours and heavy thunderstorms will arrive after midnight Saturday night. Rainfall rates could approach 2 inches per hour in some of the heaviest downpours. A general half inch to an inch of rain is likely for most areas. But there will be isolated heavier amounts to 2 and even 3 inches. It will be in those areas where we have the best chance of seeing flooding. If you live in an area that typically floods during a heavy rain event, pay close attention to the forecast. Have multiple ways of receiving warnings.
Timing: Midnight through 9am.
Gradual clearing is expected and the afternoon looks much better with the return of sunshine. It won’t feel like a football Sunday out there though. It will be warm and very humid with highs in the mid 80s. Heat index numbers in the upper 80s in some areas.
