No Big Cool Down In Sight For Now

There will be a few cool stretches over the next two weeks, but nothing sustained. Or at least that’s the way the computer guidance sees it at the moment. And that’s going to be the tricky part moving forward. In an El Nino year, and in this case a strong El Nino, it’s difficult the lock in any kind of sustained cold because there’s no blocking near Greenland. Sometimes you can get it, but most of the time you won’t.

So, I think this is going to be the trend over the next couple of months. There will be cool downs, but they won’t last long. And nothing that I’ve seen up to this point leads me to believe we’ll see a repeat of last fall and winter. We’ll see as we get closer though.
