Another round of heavy thunderstorms is likely at some point during the day. Most likely during the morning hours as another piece of energy swings through. But even by afternoon we could still see something significant pop up here or there along outflow boundaries. There will certainly be enough heating and instability to support it.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the level 2 south of the city across portions of Salem, Cumberland and Cape May counties southward into Delaware. So, they’re thinking isolated severe weather for the bulk of the region. But it wouldn’t take much of a shift to lift it north into the city. Otherwise, Thursday is a very hot and humid day for September standards. High temperatures in the low 90s with dewpoints in the 70s will put heat indices near 100 degrees up and down the I-95 corridor.
