Isolated Severe Risk Tonight

The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has placed Philadelphia and areas to the west in a LEVEL 1 out of 5 severe weather risk today. Thankfully, a level 1 is only an ISOLATED risk. This should still be taken seriously, but the general idea with isolated is that only a handful of you will see this kind of weather. The main concern, should a thunderstorm turn severe in your neighborhood, is strong winds, downpours and dangerous lightning.

The latest high-resolution forecast data brings the thunderstorms into the area after sunset. So, no need to cancel any plans or even worry about the weather interfering with your outdoor plans. Today should be fine. It’s tonight when the storms move in.

More specifically the thunderstorm window looks like 9pm to 3am from west to east.
