Tuesday Looks Stormy

The forecast for Tuesday continues to go downhill. The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has now issued a level 2 severe weather risk for parts of the area citing strong, straight-line winds as the main concern. There’s a decent amount of instability and a fairly strong low level jet overhead, so the ingredients are there. It’s just a matter of whether or not we can get a spark. An approaching cold front should do the trick, but a lot of clouds overhead throughout the day may suffocate development.

The WPC (Weather Prediction Center) has issued an elevated level 2 risk for flash flooding. Tropical humidity will begin pouring into the area Monday evening which will provide that juicy, Florida-like atmosphere. So, any thunderstorm will have the ability to produce very heavy rainfall rates and flash flooding.
