The “dog days” of August are here with a vengeance! Get ready for some seriously uncomfortable humidity levels. Dewpoints will hang out in the mid to upper 70s all week long making it feel almost suffocating at times. A no cotton alert is in effect meaning you will sweat to death if you wear cotton lol. This tropical humidity will also create a very unstable environment and lead to downpours and thunderstorms at times. The WPC (Weather Prediction Center) has the Philadelphia area in a Marginal Risk for flash flooding both Sunday and Monday (level 1 out of 4).
Look at the images below and how tropical this airmass is. Remember how dewpoints work, anything above 70 is tropical, 75 and higher is absolutely awful south Florida type stuff!
