Even though there’s a severe threat today, today is actually not a bad beach day at all. There will be a little bit of fog out there early on, but once the fog lifts skies will go partly sunny. With a west wind (land breeze), temperatures are going to skyrocket into the low 90s! Ocean temperatures are starting to get a little bit better, but still way too cold for swimming. Ocean temps are generally in the mid 60s.
The rip current risk is low, and the UV Index is high.
Heavy thunderstorms are expected this evening and tonight, after sunset. The general trend on the forecast guidance shows the bulk of the heavy weather weakening as it approaches the coast. But a couple storms could still be rather strong, possibly severe.
