Jersey Shore
Summer warmth at the Jersey shore today with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 80s on the beaches. Increasing clouds during the afternoon. A southwest breeze will strengthen helping to keep the beaches comfortable despite much hotter temperatures inland. Beachgoers can expect wave heights of 2 to 3 feet with a MODERATE RISK of rip currents. Swimmers should stay near lifeguards and exercise caution in the water. Thankfully, the water is still very chilly so that should limit the number of swimmers.
The weather remains dry today, but attention turns to the late evening and nighttime hours as a cold front approaches. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop and move towards the coast after sunset. While the strongest storms are likely well inland, west of Philadelphia, any thunderstorm that reaches the shore could produce brief heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning.
Boating Forecast
